Stuart 'Scoobs' Cochrane is a pioneering Scottish dance music DJ, producer and mental health advocate. His journey in the music industry has been one of innovation and resilience, constantly pushing the boundaries of sound and creativity. Through his music, Stuart aims to spread positivity and raise awareness about mental health challenges. His unique blend of electronic beats and uplifting melodies has garnered a dedicated following, making him a notable figure in the global dance music scene. Beyond music, Stuart is actively involved in advocating for mental health awareness, using his platform to destigmatise mental health issues and encourage open conversations. He regularly hosts talks on mental health struggles for various organisations from schools to professional football clubs and can be contacted through his website to host talks HERE. His commitment to both music and mental well-being has made him a respected figure, inspiring many with his story of passion, perseverance, and purpose.

As a dance music producer, Scoobs curated the track ‘Sunchyme’ for Dario G and remixed Rozalla’s ‘Everybody’s Free’ resulting in it’s chart success as well as many more Radio1 hits.  As a club promoter in the 90’s Scoobs booked acts like Erasure, Pete Tong, Take That, Wet Wet Wet, The Prodigy, Moby, DJ Alfredo and loads more as well as starting one of the first rave club nights in Scotland – ‘Love at the Plaza’. Scoobs was also the brainchild behind Ibiza’s ‘Café Mambo’ and was one of the original Balearic DJ’s when he lived in Ibiza in the 80’s.

The story of Scoobs life was turned into an Amazon best selling book ‘Scooby - The Glory of the Ride' and even the BBC commissioned a documentary about his career ‘Scoobs and The Rave Years'.

The Glory of the Ride

Scoobs story is one that can only, truly be told in a book. An Amazon best selling book to be exact (over 4000 copies sold to date).

From the dizzy heights of being one of the most important names in Scottish dance music and and early Ibiza scenes to the crushing lows of drug addiction and serious mental health issues. Rising like a Phoenix from the ashes back to music production, DJing and mental health advocacy, ‘The Glory of the Ride’ is a story that will break your heart and put it back together again. A must-have in any book collection.
